Since its independence in 1961, Kuwait has taken significant strides to improve food security, as evidenced by the establishment of Kuwait Flour Mills Company, which was later amalgamated with Kuwait Bakeries Company in 1988 (KFMB) to become a fundamental pillar and tributary of the Kuwaiti industry.
Kuwait Flour Mills & Bakeries purchased Kuwait Supply Company in 1994, which was entrusted with serving the population by providing and distributing government-subsidized food and construction materials in compliance with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s policies and directives.
In 1996, the firm built the Animal Feed Plant in accordance with its purpose to achieve food security, with the goal of producing animal feed enriched with nutritional benefits for use by livestock, which are one of the country’s most important sources of nutrition.
